I cannot believe I'm writing this, but I feel compelled to share my terrible online shopping experience as a cautionary tale for others. For decades, I've cherished Shreve & Co. and, truthfully, "I have been a customer of Shreve and Company since the middle 1980s. I have always loved what Shreve has to offer as well as the service they provide for purchases past and present." However, my recent attempt to secure a timepiece through your online inquiry system was an absolute disaster. This utter lack of follow-up and respect for a loyal customer is why I felt it necessary to leave this review and seek answers from customer service.
Customer: I'm incredibly disappointed. I submitted an online inquiry for a specific watch over two weeks ago, and I haven't heard a single thing. CS Rep: I sincerely apologize for the delay and lack of communication, sir. That is absolutely not the standard of service we aim to provide. Can you please give me your inquiry reference number or the details of the watch you were interested in? Customer: It's for a Rolex Datejust, reference number 126300. And no, I wasn't given a reference number! This is exactly what I mean – the online system felt like a black hole. After being a customer since the 80s, I expected so much more than to be completely ignored. CS Rep: I understand your frustration, and I assure you we take this seriously. Let me immediately look into our system for any record of your inquiry using your name and email address. If I can't find it, I will personally escalate this to our online team and ensure we follow up with you by the end of today. Customer: I appreciate you looking into it, but frankly, this shouldn't have happened. I just want to know if my request was ever received and if there's still a chance to get that watch. CS Rep: I completely agree, it should not have. Please give me a few moments while I investigate. I will do everything I can to get you an answer about your request and ensure you receive the attention you deserve as a valued, long-standing customer.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap of unresponsiveness.
